Edvak EHR offers an integrated E-Fax solution that allows practices to send and receive faxes directly within the system. Practices can either request a brand-new fax number or port an existing fax number into Edvak.

Options to Get an E-Fax Number in Edvak
There are two ways to obtain an E-Fax number linked with Edvak EHR:
- Request a New E-Fax Number
- Port an Existing E-Fax Number
1. Request a New E-Fax Number
Practices can request a brand-new E-Fax number directly from Edvak.
Key Details:
- No separate fee is charged to the practice for requesting a new number.
- Setup timeline: 1–2 business days
- The number will be fully integrated within Edvak EHR once activated.
This option is recommended for practices that:
- Do not have an existing fax number.
- Prefer to start fresh with a new number.
- Want a quicker setup process.
2. Port an Existing E-Fax Number
Practices that already have a fax number can choose to port (transfer) their existing fax number into Edvak EHR.
How Porting Works:
- After submitting a port request, the Account Manager will contact the Practice Point of Contact.
- The practice will be required to provide specific details needed to submit a porting request with the carrier.
- Once all required information is received and validated, the porting process begins.
Timeline:
- 3 working days (if all submitted information is correct and valid).
⚠️ Important:
If incorrect or incomplete information is provided by the practice, the porting process may be delayed.
This option is ideal for practices that:
- Want to retain their existing fax number.
- Have established fax communication tied to their current number.
How to Request a Fax Number in Edvak EHR
Follow the steps below to request or port an E-Fax number:
Step 1: Navigate to Fax Settings
- Go to Settings
- Select Practice Settings
- Scroll down until you see Fax Settings
Step 2: Choose Fax Configuration Type
Select one of the following options:
- Practice Wide – Use a single fax number for the entire practice.
- Location Specific – Assign separate fax numbers for each practice location.
Step 3: Enable Integrated E-Fax
- Click on Edit
- Select Integrated E-Fax
- Choose one of the following:
- Request New #
- Port Existing #
Step 4: Complete the Required Information
If Requesting a New Number:
- Enter the desired area code
- Click Request New Number
If Porting an Existing Number:
- Enter the required porting details
- Click Save
Your request will then be processed accordingly.
